LOVE HURTS: Breaking Dawn Part 1 ☺

SPOILER ALERT! Don't read if you don't want your second to the last Twilight experience spoiled.

"People always say that you put on the dress and the bride glows. But Kristen (Stewart) held back her glow until she saw Rob. And then it was like a light went on."
- Bill Condon

I have never liked Kristen Stewart's acting. Happy, sad, angry, shocked, and name-whatever-that-is-on-your-mind, she always has the same facial expression, it's awkward. But what Condon said was no exaggeration. When Bella walked down the aisle and saw her extremely gorge husband-to-be I'm so biased, ain't I?, her face lit up. She glowed. I saw it. I felt it. I dunno about you, guys, but I did.

I am a huge fan of The Twilight Saga. Not the I-am-a-massive-fan-of-Harry-Potter-and-I-breathe-and-live-it huge, but huge nonetheless. I think Bella and Edward's love story is one of the best. Yes, I do badmouth the series sometimes. There's no denying that. You can find evidence here in this very blog. But to be totally honest, I love Twilight. It's not my number one. Not even two, three, four or five, but I love it. Being a fan of something does not mean you won't be able to see its weak points, right? There are things I don't like about Twi-Saga. The vampires-sparkle-under-the-sun thingy is one. I just thought it's ridiculous. Don't you?

Anyways, Breaking Dawn is so not my favorite book in the series. It has the lengthiest story, yes. But I think its being lengthy was boring. Too many blahs and not a lot of goings-on. So, when I heard that they will divide the movie adaptation into two parts, I threw a fit. "Just because Harry Potter's epic finale has been divided into two parts doesn't mean you guys can be envious bitches and do the same thing to Breaking Dawn." BUT when I saw the movie, I was like, "Oh, okay, Breaking-freaking-Dawn's great. Thank God I still have one last movie to look forward to." I still don't understand why it has to have two parts, tho. Like I said, there was not a lot of action in the book. I will NEVER understand the reason why. But, what the hell, as long as they'll give justice to it, as long as it will entertain me, as long as the gist of the novel is there, then, go ahead!

The wedding was awesome, yes. But Edward and Bella's honeymoon was the bomb. I mean, all of us in the theater couldn't stop roaring in laughter because every little thing included in that part was extremely hilarious -- Bella's 'human time', the beach scene, Bella's pathetic attempts in seducing Edward, et cetera. The background music helped a lot too. I can't even describe how I felt about that part of the movie. It was just awesome. I loved how they turned something that is supposed to be sensual into something comical. Well done! There were lots of comedic moments in the movie, btw. And I loved all of them. It was not just the honeymoon.

Got this movie still from Yahoo! It's one of the funny parts of Edward and Bella's honeymoon.

Another thing I loved about the movie was how they made Bella looked during her pregnancy. It was freaking believable! You might think KStew's really dying. Good job there. But what I loved most was Kristen's transformation into a vampire. God, she was not beautiful. She was gorgeous, stunning and exquisite all in one. You have to watch the movie and see it for yourself! ♥

There were three things in Breaking Dawn Part 1 that I did not like. 1) The talking werewolves. I know it's an essential part of the story. The wolves are supposed to talk through their minds when they are Turned. But God, it was just so lame. The effects were asdfghjkl! I dunno, it just didn't feel right! 2) Showing Bella's insides. When she gave birth to Renesmee, when her human self died, when her heart stopped beating, Edward had to inject vampire venom into her heart and bite her so many times so she could be saved aka be turned into a vampire instead of dying-dying. And what happened after? They showed the animated entrails of Isabella Marie Swan! They showed how the venom spread through the different parts of her body and how it made her 'undead' and . . . ugh! It was kinda disgusting. I know it's just animated and I am being a sensitive bitch here but I really think it's pretty, er, disturbing. I mean, c'mon, guys, seriously? Human entrails? The drinking-human-blood-from-a-tumbler did not disturb me one bit. I found it funny, actually. Maybe because I am used to seeing such thing for in The Vampire Diaries, they do that often. And they drink straight from the blood bag using a straw. 3) Stephanie Meyer having a cameo for the nth time. Why does she always have to appear in the movies? Really, Meyer? :/

If you're going to ask me if the movie stayed loyal to the book, I will say not entirely. I won't bore you with the comparisons but I am going to say this: Yes, there were alterations. Yes, there were a couple of additions. Yes, they ignored some parts of the book. And you know I really hate it when a book's movie adaptation isn't really an adaptation at all because of all the changes. But here, I just can't find a single reason to hate the changes they made. Why? Because those changes are essential. They weren't made for nothing. And now I'll go back to the movie being divided into two parts . . . Again, the book was kinda boring despite its lengthiness. I understand that they have to add things that will make the film interesting so the audience won't get bored. That's what I meant when I said that all the alterations they made in BD1 are essential. I hope you're still with me. :)

When did Robert Pattinson get so hot like WHOA??? O_O I have always been in Team Edward. But when I say I am in Team Edward, I mean Edward as Edward in the book. Not the one who's portraying him in the movies. I was once so head-over-heels with Rob but when Taylor Lautner acquired that awesome body of his, well, I changed sides. Ha ha! C'mon, the kid's so adorb. And he is . . . neat. But as time passed by, I felt that Lautner's hotness was beginning to get a wee bit overrated. And then I saw a couple of RPattz's interviews and the guy's seriously hilarious. As in, Ryan-Gosling-hilarious hilarious. It turned me on and I just found myself ROBsessed. Again.

Anyways, I loved how Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lauter justified their roles as Edward Cullen and Jacob Black, respectively. They were so good. And totally hot. I have always thought of Lautner as a great actor and he did not let me down in Breaking Dawn. His eyes strike me as scary, they fit his role. He succeeded in letting us see how he loathed Edward for taking Bella away. For me, Taylor's best scene was when he imprinted on Renesmee and he was willing to defend her from Sam's pack. That was so badass! The flashbacks overwhelmed me. Meanwhile, if Taylor's performance was very applaudable to me, Rob's was hella sick. I have never seen him like that before. He was so good, I'm gonna die! The pain in his eyes as he watched Bella dying and the guilt in them because he thought he did that to her. The way he delivered his lines -- his voice breaking and all. Wow! Just wow! He developed a lot through the years. (Carmii told me to watch Water for Elephants because Rob was great there. I wasn't that thrilled with the idea, but now I am. I will definitely watch it.) And okay, I will say this again: he's gorgeous and radiant and oh-my-effing-gosh-hot!! I don't care if you get tired reading it, this is my blog so just suck it up. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Maybe you're wondering why this post is entitled Love Hurts. Hihi! It's just something Jed said when we watched the film. We were all so serious when Edward was showing Bella that her body's bruised after their honeymoon when Jed, out of the blue, said, "Ganyan talaga, love hurts." And we couldn't stop laughing like hell. Seeing Breaking Dawn Part 1 on its first day was such a great experience. It was the best Twilight movie by far. It was so bitin, tho. I can't wait for the part two!! And it was even better watching it with your true friends. Now, to end this, let me share with you my favorite line from the movie:

"No measure of time with you would be long enough, but we'll start with forever."
- Edward Anthony Masen Cullen

I will forever be in Team Jacob and I will ship Taylor Lautner till the end of time pero grabe ang appeal ni Robert Pattinson dito teh! Napa-catch ako ng breath sa tabi ni Nate sa wedding scene. ♥
